07 December 2005 Good Morning! Oh my, how seasick was I?! VERY would be a good description! We set off, right as reign, at a good pace. After the first few days the other boats were close by but we couldn’t see them. At the start we could see their lights at night but that was about it. It was a little rough the first few nights and I suppose we were getting used to our new life at sea when the sea sickness struck. Not wanting to lose ground, I learned a new technique of rowing altogether - less said I suppose! Tori was next to succumb but not as bad – women must be tougher! We decided to stop rowing altogether at one stage and try to sleep it off so we radioed the support boat to tell them we had stopped on purpose and that all was well (relatively!). We woke to find them alongside us the next day, which was a bit of a surprise, but welcome nonetheless! We are not doing much rowing at night at the moment due to not being able to see, but once we find our rhythm we will start our night shifts! Unfortunately our marine wildlife watch has turned up a big nil so far on the trip – here’s hoping we see some friendly dolphins and the “likes” soon – although the water is warm! Bye for now - all’s well and loving it!
